Areas of application
Digitisation can add value at almost every point in a company's processes, but there are some areas where the added value is particularly high.
digital contract registry
One of the fastest return on investment is the digitisation of active contracts. That's because they usually have to be stored in the office and a lot of searching has to be done in them. Digitised records are accessible from anywhere and are free text searchable.
digital mailer
If we want to standardise the handling of digital and paper documents, all incoming paper documents must be digitised. This is the task of the digital mailer. We can outsource this.
digital archive
A digital repository is not only a record of contracts, but also a structured, text-searchable record of all company documents. The repository can then be built on top of company document management processes.
virtual data room
In the case of a company sale, it is common for due diligence to be carried out, i.e. for specialists to review company documents. This used to take place in a physical data room, but can now be done using digitised documents.

Industries
Some activities are worth digitising in all industries, others only in certain industries.
Accounting and auditing
In the case of accounting and auditing, there is no need to transport physical documents to accountants and auditors, just scanned copies. And with OCR and artificial intelligence, data capture can be automated.
lending
In the lending process, banking systems usually keep the basic data on the loans, but not the legal documents of the contracts and collateral themselves. These are not usually needed, except in cases of non-payment by the customer. In such cases, the validity of the collateral depends on the availability of these documents in good time and quality. As it is not possible to know in advance which loan will go bad, it is advisable to digitise the entire file.
health
In the health sector, there are specific rules on the retention period of documents (30 or 50 years), and it may be necessary to access earlier documentation if someone wants to review a patient's medical history. Patient records are still typically paper-based, and digitisation of these records can bring huge cost savings and improve the customer experience.
Legal and tax advice
Lawyers and tax advisers work with a very large number of documents, many of which are linked to different parties. Digitised documents offer them a number of advantages: they do not take up office space, they are easy and inexpensive to search, and they can be subjected to complex investigations (e.g. which contract contains a penalty clause, etc.)
